About the Picture:

Another in the Final Fantasy 7 Collection I have going on, and there is certainly more to come from this shoot (it's endless, I have such a back log).

Cloud and Aeris is by no means my favourite couple, but there is something lovely about how sad and melancholy their relationship was. This picture really encapsulates how much Cloud, as a character charges his entire life by feelings and memories from the past, but I love the slight flip of what Arleh and Suri did here.

Cloud within canon is usually the one clinging to the past and Aeris is the one who encourages him to move on. But I think in some ways it's more beautiful to consider her feelings, and to let them have this moment where perfect Aeris can be selfish and human.

There's something really intimate and wonderful about this moment in time. The breath between holding on and letting go.

I also love the sharp, concise detail you can see of Arleh's costume and wig courtesy of Alex's awesome photography.

Photo took around 3 hours to edit, simply because any Final Fantasy picture needs skin tone to look perfect and once again I wanted both of them to look very soft and touchable. I also wanted Cloud to have the FF over-bright, cgi 'look' and have Aeris's tones be more earthy.
